Need Help With PF Withdrawal After Moving Cities – Do I Need to Visit My Old Job?

Preeti Shukla
I left my organization a year ago and have since transferred to a new city. I now wish to withdraw my PF. Could you please guide me on how to proceed with the withdrawal?

Additionally, I would like to know if I need to visit my previous organization for any formalities, or if the process can be completed from my current city.

Either you withdraw with the help of your previous organization, or you have to fill up the withdrawal form and submit it to the concerned PF Office (by you or your previous organization). Alternatively, you can transfer your PF with the help of your new organization.

I would suggest you request a withdrawal instead of a transfer with the help of your previous organization. You can download the form from the website, fill in the details, and attach two 1 rupee postage stamps.

Thank you.

I would suggest you withdraw your PF. You can fill out Form 19 and Form 10C for withdrawal, which will be available at any local PF office. If you don't want to go to your previous employer, then attest both forms with any gazetted officer and submit them along with other documents.

Documents to be Enclosed:

1. Photocopy of the bank passbook (single account)
2. Photocopy of ID proof

I would suggest you withdraw.

Step 1: Fill Form-19 and Form-10C for Withdrawal

Step 2:

A) If your previous company is closed, you can take the authorized signature of any one of the following:
- Bank Manager, where you have an account.
- A Gazetted Officer
- Sub-Post Master
- The Magistrate
- Head of Educational Institution.

B) If your previous company is running, you have to get an authorized signature from there only.

Step 3: Submission of the Filled Application

Submit the filled application along with a cancelled bank cheque or a Xerox copy of your bank passbook.

Regards.

If you want to withdraw your PF, you can fill Form 19 and Form 10 C for withdrawal, which will be available at any local PF office. If you don't want to go to your previous employer, then duly fill up and submit your forms along with your signature to the concerned PF Office. Also, mention in the covering letter that your previous employer is not ready to sign the PF form. In this case, the PF office will take the signature from your previous employer. (Only if your previous organization is closed, then any gazetted officer will sign).

Documents to be Enclosed:

1. Photocopy of the bank passbook (single account).
2. Photocopy of ID proof.
