Minimum Wage Update in Karnataka: Is This Mid-Year Revision Accurate and What’s Next?

Dear Seniors, I have received a notification update from our consultants regarding a revision in minimum wages in the middle of FY 2012-13. I request you to validate this and inform me if this information is accurate. Additionally, I would like to know if there will be another revision in April 2013. Your earliest response will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for the links. I have searched every relevant topic on Cite HR and on the website but did not get a clarification for my doubt. We are following the same minimum wages which are displayed in the link, but recently we have received a notification from our auditors saying that there was a mid-year revision. Just to confirm, I have posted the query. I have attached the notification. Please tell me if you have any information on this.

Hi Bhandhavi,

There was an increase in DA in April 12. However, on 01/07/12, the labor department revised the minimum wages applicable to Shops & Commercial Establishments, which is effective from 01/04/12. The revision is very comprehensive, and in 2013, there will be an increase only in DA.
