Salary Contribution Dilemma: Should We Differentiate for New Joiners Above ₹6,500?

Seeking Comments on Salary Contribution Policy

We are deducting a contribution from the salary of employees even beyond ₹6,500. For some of the new joiners whose salary is above ₹6,500, can we differentiate by allowing contributions for some of them and not for others?

All the employees of our company are covered under PF regardless of their salary, whether they are earning ₹50,000, and the contribution is based on ₹50,000. Can we recruit a few employees whose salary is more than ₹6,500 and not contribute to PF, declaring them as exempted employees? Hope this is clear now.

Yes, there are several companies that do the same. However, ensure that 6500 is the gross salary, not the basic or CTC. For further clarifications, please contact me at the undersigned.

PF is to be deducted on Basic + DA salary as per PF Act definition, not on Gross.
