Struggling with Excel Formulas: How to Keep Original Prices When Copying Cells?

syma
I have to make a sheet with prices in Excel. The problem is that I want to put a formula in the price. However, when I copy the formula from one cell to another, the amount also changes to what I copied. I need a formula that retains the original price.

Alternatively, can anybody tell me how to increase the price with a formula in the list without having to input the formula repeatedly?

Please reply ASAP.

Regards,
Syma.

Dear Syma,

You may do one thing; you can copy the sheet along with the formula. When pasting it to another sheet, go to the "paste special" function and click on the "paste formula" option. I hope this solves your problem.

You may prefix the cell address in which your constant price is with a $. For example, if your constant price is in cell B5, in the formula instead of B5, you put $B$5. Now, wherever you use the formula, the constant price will be referenced only in that cell.

I hope this information could be helpful to you.
