Job Offer Without Provident Fund: Should I Ask for It and How Does It Impact Me?

skillz_01
I got an offer from a new company, but there is no PF (Provident Fund) included in the salary breakup. Should I ask for it to be included? How will it affect me if it is not a part of the salary structure?

Thanks

Hi,

If the number of employees is 20 or more, then the company is required to be registered under the PF and ESI Act. Therefore, it is possible that the number of employees would be less than 20.

Dear Amit,

I have a small query. If the number of employees is more than 100, is it not compulsory to implement PF? Is it up to the company's discretion to decide whether to implement it or not? Your clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Saradhi

Hi Amit,

I think there is a salary slab for PF limit as well. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Well,

To get registered with PF authorities is right once you cross the limit of 20. However, PF is not compulsory for every employee. It is optional if the basic salary crosses Rs 6500.
