What Rule Requires Public Disclosure of Hazardous Chemicals and Waste Quantities?

SSM1975
We display the hazardous chemicals used and their available quantity in the facility, as well as the hazardous waste we generate and its quantity outside the facility for public communication. I wish to know which "rule" mandates this. Please let me know.

I am sure you must possess the relevant rules, acts, and other guidelines with you. I think you should refer to all Pollution Control Regulations of the Central & State Governments as they should provide enough guidelines. Maybe the attached document also may give you some input.

Reference to Pollution Control Acts

The Pollution Control Acts are quite voluminous; however, please refer to the 'Hazardous Chemicals Rules' to start with.

This requirement has come after the Bhopal tragedy. The Honorable Supreme Court issued guidelines to industries to display the data of hazardous chemicals and quantities used, hazardous waste generated, etc. The intention is that any interested party should know if they are going to be affected by the industry's operations.

Hope this clears the matter.

Thanks & Regards,

Thank you for your valuable input. Though this is promulgated by The Honorable Supreme Court, it is regulated by the PCB. Please let me know what specific rule under the PCB requires this.
