As far as I am aware, professional tax is to be paid for the whole month irrespective of the date you join in. PT can't be paid on pro-rata basis.
However, seniors pls confirm the same.

Professional Tax is deducted for the complete month irrespective of the no. of days worked as per PT Tax Slab.

Hi Anil,
Profession Tax has to be deducted based on the employee's actual earnings in the particular period.
