Determining Workers' Compensation: Total vs. Basic Salary

Whether the last salary for calculating workers' compensation is the total salary or basic salary is a common question. In the case of the death of an engineer aged 45 with a salary of Rs 45,000 per month, the calculation of compensation needs to be determined.

Calculation of W C Claim as per below: 50% of the basic salary * 169.44 (as per the relevant factor of 45 years) * 100%. It is according to my knowledge.

Example Calculation:

If his basic salary is 15,000 (50% of it):
7,500 * 169.44 * 100% = 12,70,800, if I am not wrong.

The total salary is considered in workers' compensation claims, with the limit being Rs 8,000 per month in wages. If I am mistaken, please do let me know.

Thank you.
