Work Permit Certification Procedure Development

We have to develop a new Work Permit Certification Procedure. Can I get a detailed template and what points should be included in it?

Appreciate your help.

A work permit is issued for various categories of work, such as:

1. Hot work
2. Height work
3. Excavation work
4. Electrification work
5. Confined space entry
6. Fragile roof work

The procedures for all the above are different. If you can specify the type of work you intend to carry out, maybe we can help.

Thanks & Regards,

One file is attached, which is quite generic. I have a few more which I shall be able to upload after two more days. Hope you can make use of this one until then.

Thanks & Regards,
Sudhir

I am not seeking a format for a Work Permit. Instead, I would like to create a document using a flowchart to outline the procedure for certifying issuers and receivers of Work Permits. The file you provided will not be helpful.

Thank you,

Najam

Hi, I do not have the flowchart. Please look at the following thread. I have attached a rule and regulation manual where the permit conditions are mentioned. You can prepare the flowchart yourself. If you require any help in the preparation of the same, please let us know. Once you make it, request to upload it for the benefit of all.

Thanks & Regards,

Flow Chart for Work Permit Process

The flow chart is as follows:

- Originator (Plant Supervisor, Plant Incharge)
- Safety Incharge
- HOD of the originator
- Originator (initiator of work permit)
- Receiver (Executor of the job or the contractor to whom the work is entrusted).

Once the work is over, it has to be returned and closed with the Safety Incharge's signature.

Types of Work Permits

There are two types of work permits:
- Class 1, which involves hot work, vessel entry, and working at heights.
- Class 2, which is not as intensive as Class 1 jobs.

I hope the above information aligns with your requirements.

Best Wishes.

Can you explain your requirements? I am not clear about it. What do you mean by a flow chart for the certification of issuers or receivers? Who will do the certification of issuers and/or receivers? Please clarify.

najamsj
Dear Murdhar,

The Training Department is responsible for providing a course to the issuers and receivers for work permits. After the course, practicals need to be completed, followed by certification. The certification process involves recertifying them after 2 years.

This is the process.

Please find enclosed the attachment of the work permit/request/checklist of safety precautions for carrying out hot, electrical, and height work.

Thank you.
