Considering an MBA in HR After B.Tech? Insights on Career Growth and Salary Expectations

shabha
I am a B.Tech student continuing my 3rd year of B.Tech. I want to know if pursuing an MBA in the HR field would be effective for my career and how much my starting salary would be. Another thing I want to understand is how to reach a managerial/executive or any high-profile position in the HR field. Please provide some ideas.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you,

Hi Shabha,

I am curious to know what motivates you to consider HR as a career path. Your question seems to suggest that you believe a career in HR could lead to top positions and high salaries. If this is your primary motivation, I would advise against pursuing HR as a career, as you may not find satisfaction in this field.

However, if you have a genuine passion for HR, enjoy interacting with employees to address their concerns, and are committed to bridging the gap between employees and the organization, then I encourage you to pursue an MBA/PGDM in HR and seek opportunities in HR roles.

Typically, your initial role may involve generalist duties or recruitment, with a decent salary. You can continuously develop your skills, progress up the career ladder, and explore your capabilities further. Regarding your starting salary, it will vary depending on the company, industry, your skillset, and the specific role you secure.

To advance in your HR career, you can start with a generalist role, move into strategic HR, and eventually become a business partner in HR.

I hope this information was helpful.

Regards,
