Please let me know, while calculating the number of days worked in a month, should we consider the weekly off day as a day worked.

In manufacturing operations, a wage month is presumed to have 26 actual working days and 208 working hours (26 x 8). Calculation of wages, incentives, etc., is based on this premise. In some months, there could be 27 working days, and for such months, the calculation is varied accordingly. The weekly off is excluded for wage calculation purposes for the blue-collar workers. However, for ministerial staff and executives who are paid a salary, the month comprises all days, including the weekly off.

When you are paying a salary for 26 days, you are not including Sunday/Saturday or your weekly offs for the month. This practice means the salary is not paid for the whole month but only for the working days of the month. Ideally, salary should be paid for 30 days of the month, including the weekly offs. A salaried employee is not a laborer to receive his salary for working days.
