Hi, On my ESIC form, my first name is misspelled by the person in HR who filled out the form. I asked him for a correction, but he said there is no issue as the number will be the same. If you obtain an ESIC number once, you cannot modify the name again. However, in your situation, you can ask your HR department to send an email from their official ID to the following addresses regarding this matter. ESIC will make the correction to your name through their IT department or at their level.

Yes, the name can't be changed online in ESIC. You have to get the TIC and the letter, which needs to be signed by an authorized signatory on the letterhead of the company. It needs to be submitted in the ESIC office, and the name will be changed in 2 weeks for sure. I have handled such situations many times. This is the only way to do it.
