How Do I Start Competency Mapping for Each Role in a Hotel for My Internship?

Hi Anayaat, thank you a lot for sharing this, but in all the above links, it's for technical or IT companies. I am doing an internship in a famous hotel, so I want data relating to the hotel industry. It will be kind if I get material on how to prepare the questionnaire for a survey and how to identify the competencies.

Have you spoken to your HR Manager, Training Manager, Operations Manager, or General Manager about preparing a roadmap for moving forward with your project?

Competency Mapping Challenges

Competency Mapping isn't an effortless exercise. Even for a hotel, it can take a couple of experienced consultants up to two months to complete. However, it all depends on the extent of the mapping that your employer is seeking from you.

I've visited the links sent to you by Anayaat, and I believe they can be adapted for use within the hospitality industry. Why don't you take those to any of the managers I've mentioned above and speak with them about it? I am sure they will work with you to move your project forward.

I have spoken to my HR Manager, and she wants me to identify competencies only and communicate them to all the HODs. As an initiative, I want to conduct a survey with any of the job family managers or executives. Therefore, I need a questionnaire.
