Will a Distance Learning Bachelor's Affect My Friend's Job Hunt in IT? Seeking Examples of Accepting Companies

One of my friends is a 6-year-experienced IT professional. He has been with the same company for the past 5 years. His educational qualifications include a BSc (Correspondence/Distance Education) and an MSc in IT (Regular). He is planning to switch jobs to another employer, but the concern is that since he has a distance education qualification at the undergraduate level, will companies recognize it? If so, could you please provide some examples of such companies? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Please provide more information about when, in which field, and from where he obtained his BSc. Did his current company not recognize his qualifications? They must have, especially if he has been with them for 6 years. So, what makes you think other companies do not?
