Hello Seniors,
I am writing for advice for my friend, who is a real hard worker and dedicated to whatever he does. Due to circumstances, he had severe shoulder pain, and doctors found that he has a partial tear in the shoulder bones. He works in the automobile industry and recently got placed in the manufacturing company of Jaguar. It was tough for him to get through the interviews, but still, he got the job as the company really found him worth it.
After joining, he was assigned to different sections, and in some departments, his work was very hectic due to his shoulder problems, causing him a lot of pain. The company informed him that he would be shifted to different departments initially for 3 months. Now, he is in a situation where he cannot continue the job as his hand hurts badly and he is unable to work. He may quit this job as he spoke to his HR, who asked him to take a one-month leave and then return, but he feels that even after a month, the situation will remain the same.
He also received an offer from Volkswagen when he was selected for Jaguar but did not join them. Now, he inquired and found out that the vacancy is still available at Volkswagen, and they gave him a positive response. My question is whether he needs to inform the new company about his shoulder problem and the fact that certain tasks will cause him significant pain, or if he should not mention it initially and join them. He really wants the job. There are sections where he can work without hurting his shoulders, but not every company needs to be informed about this as they prioritize productivity. Kindly assist me in making a wise decision.
Regards,
Jeena
