Confused About Off Day Wages? How Are Rest Day Payments Calculated in Your Company?

c22914154
I worked in a limited company. I have only received 26 days' wages for working three shifts in this company. However, I have not been paid for my off days. Could you please advise me on how off day/rest day wages are calculated?

Thanks with regards.

Understanding Rest Day Wages Under MW 1950 (Central) Rules

As per the MW 1950 (Central) Rules, Rule 23, employees are entitled to a rest day (off day) whether they work under a daily wage system or a piece-rate scheme. This rule comprises 7 sub-rules. Sub-rules 4 and 5 specify that an employee shall be paid wages for the rest day (off day) if they work in a 7-day pattern. Please refer to the rule for further details and provide a discussion on it. Could you provide more information on your issue, such as your pay cycle period? According to statutory regulations, after working for six days, every company is obligated to provide a rest day, which is a paid day. Are there any other benefits that the company offers, such as a compensatory off facility where you must avail all the rest days within two months?

Kindly share more information so that we can provide you with advice.

Thanks and regards,

It will be neither Sunday nor any other day. (This year, my weekly off day is on Thursday, and it will move to the next day next year starting from January 26).

The IE department has set a schedule for each production for 8 hours, and workers should receive a production piece-rate based on their performance (it will vary for each product). The average earning of a 3rd-grade worker is Rs 330-340.
