As an MBA student, you have to work hard to prepare your project report on your own, with innovative ideas, concepts, creations, and so on. You should not rely on help from seniors as it will not enhance your expertise in your field. Instead, you need to explore possibilities and work on situational aspects to gather the required information, content, and materials for your project report. This process will provide you with self-satisfaction, confidence, and the ability to undertake future projects with enthusiasm and industry.

When you say meaningful to society, you could focus on empowerment, affirmative action, self-help groups, SGAs, training government officials to be proactive at the village level, creating a responsive administration, quality improvement, employment generation, and improving the employability of the graduate populace. The list is endless. Actually, it depends on which angle of HR fascinates you. Mention it, and we can brainstorm here. 
