Career Crossroads: Should I Return to HR or Stick with US IT Recruitment?

Hello Professionals, I have completed my MBA (HR & Marketing) in the year 2011. I worked as a US IT recruiter for 6 months, and later, I had an opportunity to start a new business. Unfortunately, it misfired. Now, I want to get back into the HR field. Will it work out, or should I go with US recruitment? Please help me out.

Second, you certainly can go back to your HR profile, but for this, you have to recover. You could have gained knowledge and experience from this period you were out of a job. Work to strengthen your knowledge, apply for the job, and be ready to answer your recruiters on the decision to leave your job and go for business.

Starting Anew with a Recruiting Profile

You can also start with a recruiting profile, and for this, I'd suggest you please forget the past, think about your present for the future, put in your sincere effort, and give a new start by learning from your past mistakes.

"Calm down" is the first thing that comes to my mind when I read your post. The situation described by you is very common, so do not hesitate as if you've done something really wrong. It happens to everybody. People end up choosing the wrong jobs, so don't worry.

Choosing Between HR Field and US Recruitment

The option that you've selected—HR Field & US Recruitment—in my opinion, either of them can be chosen. Preferably, US Recruitment will be easier compared to core HR functions immediately for earning your livelihood (also because you've had hands-on experience of 6 months), and in the meantime, you can brush up your knowledge thoroughly to get into an HR Generalist role. Here, let me tell you, recruitment also comprises an important role of the HR function, and hence its experience will be an added advantage.
