Yeah I believe it can be helpful. Because, the attendance and scheduling is the basic way to chalk out and plan your routine operations and task management, therefore, it may also help us to control rather manage unnecessary operational costs.
I think there may be two cases:
1. Production / machine based working environment or setup;
2. Men Power / Manual working set.
In first case, there may be further classifications in production or machine based setup. I think usually it will not much helpful in the setup where there are big machines or setups which can start its operation, even the employee is late or absent. But there may be a setup where the operations can only be started or composed by the person having particular skills and expertise. Therefore, there are chances to make forecast and alerts with regard to such like setups.
The attendance or absentee ratio will give you factors to plan and curtail your additional or unnecessary costs in any or of the following ways:
1. Switch off unnecessary machines
2. Use limited lights or safety equipments
3. Use of minimum papers / printers / copier
4. Manage and plan additional workers
5. Timely distribution of work, etc.
Disagreement and diversion of opinion is regretted!
