What If We Treated Our Bible Like Our Cell Phone? A Thought-Provoking Reflection on Priorities

monicka
It applies to any other religious holy book, such as the Bhagavad Gita or the Quran, etc. I never thought of it this way, but it's an eye-opener.

What If We Treated Our Bible Like Our Cell Phone?

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone? What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? What if we flipped through it several times a day? What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? What if we used it to receive messages from the text? What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it? What if we gave it to kids as gifts? What if we used it when we traveled? What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go... hmm... where is my Bible? Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill. Makes you stop and think, 'where are my priorities?'

I totally agree with your point. Even I thought about it before posting. However, here the post itself is not delving deep into any religion as your feedback does. It is simply meant to prompt people, including myself, to reflect on where we stand religiously. Once again, it depends on individuals who can also take it in a humorous light.

Regards.

As Monicka has already mentioned, it applies to any other religious book, and I don't think it propagates any particular religion per se. Even I faced objections when I posted a PPT, and some members took issue with the last slide mentioning a Christian society, accusing me of propagation. Being a Hindu, why would I do that? We need to learn to respect all religions. Maybe Monicka can edit the post by mentioning religious books instead of the Bible and GOD instead of Jesus, so that unnecessary comments can be avoided.

Dear Friends,

God is one. All religions teach us to have faith.

My sincere request to the members is that please don't post material that hurts the sentiments of others.

Thanks
