How Do I Create an Experience Certificate for My Family Business Work? Need Guidance!

Hi friends, this is Rishi. First of all, thank you all for being so helpful in solving problems and clarifying concerns of those in trouble or dilemma. I solicit your expertise to solve a critical problem, which is looming larger day by day.

Background and Experience

I was involved in our family business, a small publishing firm, for nearly 5 years and then moved on to corporates, where I worked for another 5 years. I have a total of 10 years of experience.

Current Situation

I am now in the middle of interview processes with a few companies. As we all know, regardless of experience, all companies require an experience certificate to validate it. I have relieving letters, appointment letters, pay slips, and IT returns for the two corporates I worked for.

Request for Experience Certificate Format

However, I have no clue how an experience certificate for a family business should look or what format should be followed. Please provide me with a format for an experience certificate for a family business. By the way, I worked for my uncle, who is the proprietor of that business.

Dear TS sir, you are correct, sir. I did. However, if you observed my previous posting, it was about the consideration of this experience in the corporate world, especially in big companies. In that post, if you observe, I mentioned that I already have the experience letter from my uncle. However, that was given by him, and he just provided it according to his wish, in terms of format.

Inquiry About Standard Experience Certificate Format

Now, I want to know if there is any standard format and any official format for experience letters in these cases. My question is different here. I am not asking about the acceptability of my experience. I am inquiring about the format of the experience certificate. Hence, I posted it here in the formats category.

Hi Bhargavi, as I mentioned, you all have clarified my major issue. However, this question is about the document for the same. If I could proceed with whatever is issued by the proprietor, I don't mind. Please advise on the same.

You can go ahead with whatever the proprietor has given you. There are no standard formats for experience letters. However, organizations require proof that you've worked before. Since it is your own uncle's organization, you need not worry. Your employer will not be very strict about it as you already have something in hand to show. If they require anything else, you can collect it from your uncle later.

Thank you for your advice. I will go ahead with the experience certificate in hand. There won't be a mention of salary details and other specifics, as is common in the corporate world. This sparked a doubt in my mind. Once again, the reason I posted this question is that the small mistakes we make out of ignorance can cost us a lot later. Therefore, I needed some expertise to guide me in this matter.

I'm no expert compared to others in this forum; I just shared what I knew. You've misunderstood the concept of an experience certificate. This certificate will mention only the service period of an employee, and salary particulars will not be mentioned, even in the corporate world. You need to show your payslips from previous months or provide a salary certificate to the employers to display your salary details. Do not get confused with both of them.

I agree with you. There will be and should be separate pay slips/salary certificates as salary proof. I have all relevant documents for corporate experience. However, in the case of my first experience, I had this query because there were no salary slips. I was helpless but had to ask for clarification.
