Hi all,
First of all, no offense meant to any HR friends here. I am posting this out of curiosity as why do HRs behave in such (unprofessional) way?
Some of the highly reputed companies called me for a position open with them.
Case - 1:
One of the largest companies in the global PR industry - HR called me on October 4, 2012 and said we received your resume. The HR was quite energetic in his voice and sounded so friendly too. You will have telephonic interview at 11:00 AM tomorrow [October 4, 2012] with the Project Manager.
On October 5, 2012, HR called up at 10:55 AM to know if I am ready. I said I am all set and ready. Again in this call too, the HR was quite energetic in his voice and sounded so friendly too. It's 11:00 AM, and the so-called Project Manager did not call. I did not receive any call even hours later. I called the HR up at 1:15 PM and said hi this is kamal. The HR said mmm yeah kamal tell me. I told the HR I did not receive any call. The HR said "oh, I will check with the Manager and let you know"....
That'S It...no call from the HR again....until this minute....
Case - 2: One of the top global companies in the IT industry [consulting and service domain]...The HR called me on October 4, 2012. Are you still interested in the position [it is of my domain]. Long back they called me and conducted a test. I was through and have been waiting for second round...No one called up...They again called on October 4, 2012 and asked if I am still interested...I said yes...The HR said you will get a call on October 5, 2012 some time in the day...I did not receive a single call..I called back the HR to know what happened...She said she will call me back...
I DON'T UNDERSTAND,...WHY do HRs do it? When they found someone else, they could as well let me know the same on the phone...I won't chide them or sue them right? It's been the same with thousands of candidates or prospective employees like me...WHY...They could at least send a mail stating the position has been filled...It's highly unprofessional and rude of them to keep the candidate in dark...or leave him in the middle of no where...
Should I assume I am not selected?
Please clarify my concern...so next time it happens to me at least i can be enlightened enough to handle the situation....
Awaiting your advices..
Thanks and Regards,
Kamal Raj
