How Can I Transfer My Old Provident Fund from West Bengal to a New Employer?

Provident Fund Transfer Query

My name is Aishwariya. I worked for a private company (LTD Consultant) from April 1st, 2011, to November 2011. During this period, the company deducted PF (Provident Fund) contributions from my salary. The PF account is managed by the head office located in Calcutta. The PF account number is associated with the West Bengal region, although I worked in Chennai. I left the job without prior notice to the company and was unable to withdraw the PF amount. In August 2012, I joined a new company where I am not eligible for PF deductions or benefits.

I have a query regarding the transfer of the PF amount deducted by my previous company to another employer, even after a year or more, especially when the PF account is linked to West Bengal. Can anyone provide guidance on this matter? You can reach me at [Email Removed For Privacy Reasons] & [Email Removed For Privacy Reasons].

I am looking forward to your response.

Aishwariya

Yes, you can. But make sure that if you try to claim or transfer funds before 2 years from the last deposit to your account.

As per your query, I understand that in your existing company you don't have PF. Therefore, you cannot transfer it. It's better to claim it. Fill out the attached 19 & 10C forms and send them to your previous employer. If you feel that they will not help, then get the signature of a Gazetted officer wherever there is an Employer Signature and send it to the Regional PF office.
