Worried About Job Changes? How a Closed First Company Might Impact Your Future Moves

pintspa
I have around 10 years of IT experience. This is my fourth company. The last three companies were MNCs. My first company closed some time back. It was a small startup when I joined there, and I worked in that company for 18 months. This company closed long ago, and I only have a relieving letter from my first company. I joined my current company 2 years ago. I am not sure if my current company has conducted any background checks on my first company, even though I have provided all the documents of my previous employers. Now, I want to move from my current company. Please advise if this will create any problems with my future jobs. Frankly speaking, due to this fear, I could not join some good companies last year.

Background Verification Concerns

I would like to know whether companies usually conduct background verifications for the last 2-3 companies or all.

Any suggestions will really help.

Regards,
BSSV
You need not worry about this at all; it has nothing to do with your job, career, or future professional endeavors. When you have submitted the related genuine documents, your duty is done with that. Background verification does not affect your job security. For your satisfaction, I would also mention that just because the company is closed does not make the company vanish completely. All the records and related documents will be kept safe, and closed companies will be recorded in the office of the company registrar in the closure book. This is a corporate function and has nothing to affect the HR functions or the employees of the companies. So, I suggest you please do not deny the good opportunities, grab them with confidence, and move ahead.

(Yeah, if you are the reason for the closure of the company, then you will have to worry...!! ;-)

Wish you good luck.
