Can My New Employer Access My PF Account Details with Just the Account Number?

Can anyone other than me view my PF account, know its balance, and get any related info about it if they have my PF account number?

For example, I worked with an employer for 5 years, left the company, and joined a new company. I now decide to close my PF account and withdraw, which will take about 2 months. Until then, is it possible that my new employer can know all about my PF account's balance or any related info about it if they have my PF number?

I would say there is no threat to your amount, but it cannot be made completely confidential since it basically connects with the employer and implies that they will surely have your EPF info. However, it is the duty of the employer to maintain its confidentiality.
