Struggling with PF Transfer: How to Verify Amount and Interest After a Long Wait?

itender.singh
I changed my job in April 2005 and moved to a new location (state). I applied for the transfer of the PF (Provident Fund) amount to my new PF account (in this case, it is a privately owned Trust). Since then, I have been following up for the transfer. Now, after a long struggle, the PRO person said the cheque has been sent.

Now, I have two questions:
1) How can I check if the principal amount transferred is correct?
2) Who will pay me the interest for the period from April 2005 to the present date?

Dear Friend,

I want to ask, is there a gap from April 2005 until the present date? My money is currently held in the PF account established by my previous employer. Now, when this money is being transferred to another state RPFC, who will be responsible for providing the interest - the RPFC of the previous account or the current Trust (as the current account is under a private trust)?

Dear friend,

Further to your peculiar query, I wish to inform you that until the date your PF contributions are transferred to your new account (wherever it is), the interest part will be taken care of by the previous PF authorities. From the day your PF accumulations come into your account, interest will be credited by the new PF authorities.

However, you may confirm this with either the PF office or your HR Department. In case you are yourself an HR professional, then with the former.

Dear all,

I submitted my PF transfer form to my current company in 2011. However, the transfer from my previous company has not been processed yet. I have also submitted a grievance redressal form online to settle the claim. I have registered complaints three times, but the status shows that the PF form has been sent back to the old company. When inquiring, the old company claims they have not received any information or documents from the PF office.

Could you please advise on how long one typically has to wait for the transfer to be completed?

Regards,
V. Nagarajan
