How Do I Prove My Work Experience Without Any Official Documents? Seeking Advice!

ridhimaa
I completed my master's abroad, and it was the start of a recession when I came back to India. I was struggling to get a job without any experience. Then, I started working as a trainer for Java in a training institute. They used to pay me in cash based on the batch, so I was not given any salary slip. I don't even have an appointment letter from them. I worked as a trainer for more than 2 years, and then I got placed in an MNC where I worked for 4 years. At that time, I didn't receive any relieving letter or experience letter, but I was given a reference by my manager through phone and email.

Now, I am trying to switch jobs, and I don't have any proof of that work experience. If I don't mention that experience in my CV, I have a gap of 3 years after my graduation. I tried to contact the institute to obtain any kind of letter, but unfortunately, the management has changed, and there are no people I worked with there. The new management refuses to provide me with an experience letter as well. One of my HR friends suggested that I include it on my CV and explain the situation to the new company's HR team.

Could someone help me with what I can do in this situation?

It looks like you are getting sound advice from your friend. You should have taken the experience letter, but now it's not useful to cry about old things. Put it in your CV. If they ask for an experience letter, explain the matter to them.
