Is It Legal to Deny Weekly Offs to Site Employees in Construction? Seeking Clarity on Policies

Weekly Off Policy for Site Employees

I am working with a construction company in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It is a private limited company. We have a weekly off on Sunday at the office, but at the site, there are no weekly offs for site employees (not labor), i.e., engineers, supervisors, etc. Is it compulsory that we provide a weekly off to them, or is it okay if we don't provide a week off to them?

We are giving salaries based on the number of days present in a month. For example, if an employee is present for 29 days in a 30-day month, then we deduct 1 day's salary or 1 leave from their leave balance (Sick Leave, Casual Leave, Paid Leave). Is this acceptable by law or not?

Employee Right to Weekly Off

One day off with salary/wages after six days of work is a right of every employee. Therefore, you should provide them one day off with pay. It is okay, depending on the nature of work; you can grant a day off on any other day than Sunday. The practice of deducting salary for the day not worked is illegal.
