Overtime - Factories Act [Thread 431349]

Dear Sir,
As per the Maharashtra Factories Act, or any relevant act ,please guide me, maximum
how many Hrs overtime we will offered to employee. Please give the reference of act & section no ,so as to i will study the more

Dear Gentleman,
As per the Factories Act'1948 you should not ask any employee to work beyond 60 hours in a week i.e. 12 hours in a week and 48 hours in a month. Maximum 2 hours in a quarter can be asked to work on overtime. The total becomes 50 hours in a month.
Hope the matter is clear.

The total becomes 50 hours in a Quarter is the correct, but subject to permission from Factory Insp. Office.
