Understanding C-Off Adjustment: Is Sunday Paid or Deductible When Leave Spans the Weekend?

Satish Parimal
Clarification Needed on C-Off Adjustment Policy

I need your guidance to clear my doubt regarding c-off adjustment. We have a weekly off on Sunday, and we have a policy to deduct any holiday/weekly off if an employee has taken leave before and after the holiday. One of our employees has taken leave without pay (LWP) on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. He has submitted his c-off adjustment form for Saturday and Monday. My question is, will he get Sunday as a paid day, or will it be deductible?

Kindly revert with your comments. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Satish.

It depends on the company policy. Some companies consider it as a loss of pay, some don't. It's better you contact your senior in the company.

Dear Mr. Satish, Sunday is considered a paid day in every salary processing. Therefore, there is no question of deduction. Each employee receives a salary for 30/31 days, which already includes all Sundays of the month. If your company policy does not align with this practice, then your company may be violating labor laws. Kindly rectify this issue.
