The entrepreneur is... the most important player in the building of the global economy. So much so that big companies are reconstituting themselves as networks of entrepreneurs.

Hello Mr AVS,
A nice quote.
An entrepreneur is starting point of the business.
His enterprising approach commences the business activities.

Hi AVS,

Roughly stated an 'entrepreneur' is a risk taker and therefore he is sometimes referred to as 'risk capital' It is not the capital, materials or customers that are important, but human resources or our people who are important for the success of a company. Hence companies would do well to pay attention to the human resources they have in their company rather than looking at the customers or clients.

There is a wonderful book titled, "The Customer Comes Second" by Hal F Rosenbluth, which our members should read. I strongly recommend it. After the 9/11 attack in New York by Osama Bin Laden's associates, the travel business of Rosenbluth's nosedives and he is faced with a situation of cutting down his personnel in his company. But he decides against that move and he focuses on his men. It is a fascinating story and how he turns round once again the company into a profit making company is narrated in a lively, breezy way. This once again reinforces the belief that it is human resources more than the customer who can make or mar a business fortunes. Thus it is entrepreneur or our human capital that holds the key for the profit of a company. NOT THE CUSTOMER!!
