annreddydivya
Hi All,
I'm working for an SME where we are working for power projects pan india. We have offices at different project locations.
One of our projects which we are working is at Punjab state and we are spread in 20 locations. So is it mandatory to take Contract Labour License for all the project locations in Punjab state or can we apply for one license of all the 20 project office locations.
Kindly help me in guiding the process for Contract Labour License.
Thank you,

Dear Divya
Registration (for Principal employer) and Licence (for contractor) is mandatory under the Contract Labour (Abolition & Regulation) Act 1970, whenever engagement of 20 or more workers are involved.
Please SEARCH CiteHR.com or take a look at the panel on the right - you"ll find plenty of information that you need.
Warm regards.

Dear Friend
Your company does not fall under central estalishment hence where ever workers are more than 20 then you will have to take labour license on that location.

Dear Sir/Mam
This is not important where our company is registered, important is Which contract Labour Rules (State Or Central) is applicable to our Principal Employer and where is he registered under Contract Labour Act-1970. Only this rules are applicable to his all contractors.
If your contract is with Govt Department like Oil Co/Telecommunication cos-BSNL/WCL/central govt undertaking there is Central Rules is applicable.
If your contract is with IT Company/Construction co except central govt cos. there is State Rules is applicable.
If one RC under Contract Labour Act obtained by your principal employer for all 20 location (it is possible in Central only), you can apply Con Lab Lic.
