Struggling with High Absenteeism? Seeking Advice on Implementing a Leave Policy in Aviation

amNeha
Hi, I am Neha, and I work in the aviation industry. I want to implement a leave policy in our company. Please guide me. We have CSA, drivers, loaders, cabin cleaners, baggage handlers, supervisors, and duty managers. We don't have any leave policy for them, which is why the absenteeism rate is very high. Additionally, in our city office, which consists of 10-13 staff, we also do not have a leave policy.

Thank you for your assistance.

You can provide leaves based on the employees and workers who are on the company rolls. The leave policy differs from employees to workers.

Preparing a Leave Policy

You can prepare a format for the leave policy that can be duly approved by the HR Head or the concerned person. Kindly check out the attachment, which will help you further understand.

First of all, it is a very good initiative of yours to form a leave policy that will boost the morale of the employees. In our company, we have 30 PL/EL and 8 CL. The CL cannot be forwarded or carried over to the next year, whereas the PL can be carried forward. Considering the nature of your industry, you can provide about 20 PL/EL and 8 CL. CL can be clubbed with any holidays/RH (you can even give 2 days RH if you wish). EL/PL has to be a minimum of 1 or 2 days (2 days to avoid frequent leave-taking). Also, revisions or amendments can be made to this policy based on the responses received.

All the best.

Regards, Ravi
