HR is much broader, where recruitment is a vital and very important area. First, you have to clarify in which field of HR you want to make a career. Secondly, consider your target industry, and thirdly, understand what you mean by HR Generalist. In MNCs or big industries, you may need to specialize in one field, but in smaller industries, one HR professional often handles all aspects.
