Is My Professional Tax Deduction of 200 Rupees on a 6000 Salary Appropriate? Seeking Clarity on Tax Slabs for HR Consultants

apurwa cara
My basic pay as an HR consultant is 6000 rupees per month. It is a fixed basic pay. My company deducts 200 rupees as professional tax. Is it appropriate? Does the tax get deducted? And if yes, then it comes under which tax slab? Can you please tell me the tax structure for employees earning from 4000 and above?

We are not sure about what kind of employment you have with this company. As per your statement, we can infer that you are not on the ordinary payroll of the company. Moreover, they have categorized you under professional services. In such a case, there may be a deduction of a certain percentage, and your employer is responsible for providing you with a TDS certificate at the end of the financial year. Please inquire with your employer to confirm your employment status. In typical employment scenarios, there is a liability to deduct Rs. 80/- if you are in the state of Gujarat.
