I'm working as a Project Trainee in a software company in Hyderabad. I'm being paid a consultancy fee for a 6-month training period. They are deducting 11.33% tax from my stipend in the form of Tax Deducted at Source (TDS). I want to know whether TDS is applicable to my stipend.

If you are paid in the name of Consultancy fees, it invites TDS at 10.3% and not 11.33% as mentioned. But if you are paid in the name of stipend, TDS should not be deducted. Please clarify. 😂 💡

Yes! They are paying me in the name of consultancy fees. But they are deducting 11.33% from the pay.
