PRIVATE SECURITY AGENCIES ACT 2005 Overview
Everything is clearly mentioned in the PRIVATE SECURITY AGENCIES ACT 2005. The Act states that a security services business can only be started when the necessary license is obtained.
Steps to Obtain a License
For getting the license, the mandatory requirements are:
- Police verification of owners/employees if you are likely to get a contract, for which you must have a copy of the purchase order of the prospective contract.
- Sample of uniform, photographs of guards from four angles.
It is therefore clear that to get a prospective purchase order for supplying security guards, one must have a license under Shops & Establishment, Service Tax Registration, Professional Tax Registration, PF code if more than 10 guards/employees, ESIC Code if more than 20 employees, and PAN number.
However, if the necessary number of guards is less than required for PF or ESIC norms, the registration numbers for PF/ESIC can be obtained later and submitted within three months after getting the PSAR license. Necessary documents, as mentioned above, need to be attached with the prescribed application form and submitted along with fees as mentioned to the commissioner's office.
