Navigating HR Career Choices: Consultancy vs In-house Opportunities

dolly.dolly
Dear all,

I have completed my PGDM in HR and have six months of experience as an HR executive. During my previous role, I was responsible for recruitment, training, and development. However, I lack practical experience in payroll. Unfortunately, I left my job and am currently seeking opportunities in Bangalore. I am receiving calls for recruitment positions from consultancies, which is causing confusion. I am unsure whether working in a consultancy would be beneficial for my future career in HR. Can anyone provide advice on the potential benefits of working in a consultancy in terms of future prospects in recruitment? Your prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Please help me out as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Dear Dolly,

In my opinion, firstly, you should leave the job when you have another job in your hand; otherwise, its effect on your field. As per your post, you have six months of experience in recruitment, T&D, and now you don't have any job. Six months of experience never count as any significant experience when you start your career.

Anyways, now you want a generalist profile, so don't choose any consultancy job again. Try to find a job that matches what you want to learn.

Hope you understand.

Regards,
Dev

Interview experiences for your teacher position are very important. You should try searching for them. Then, list teacher technical interview questions (search or from the job description), most common interview questions, and try to answer them. You can refer to some questions like:

- Tell me about yourself.
- Why did you leave your last job?
- What are your career goals as a teacher?
- What is your greatest weakness as a teacher?
- How do you evaluate the success of your teaching?
- What type of classroom management structure would you implement if you were hired?
- What is the toughest aspect of teaching today?
- What have been your most positive teaching experiences?
- Could a student with low academic ability receive a high grade in your classes?
- What is your system for evaluating student work?
- What would be the ideal philosophy of a school for you?
