Esi On Conveyance Allowance - Pdf Download

Dear Senior Friends,
There is confusion topic on ESI Conveyance Allowance, weather the conveyance allowance is including OR not. On this, ALL ARE AWARE there is a judgement by the Madras High Court on 17-09-2009 (see the attachment) stating that the Conveyance allowance is not part of wages. After that is there any amendment is issued by the ESI is released ?

Hi Kumar,
In this judgement 3rd point very clear that, Conveyance allowance is not part of the wages for ESI calculation.
There is no further amendment in this regard.

Just to add info above all is ESIC has approved payment of conveyance allowance to be paid to IPs (Insured Persons) @Rs.100/-per visit for submission of Life Certificates in PDB cases as per the latest ammendments.

It is noted in the judgement that esic contribution is applicable on all those component of wages which are fixed including the overtime, but as far as reimbursement(conveyance) is concern the esic is not applicable on the same.
