Is My PF Account Real? How to Verify It and Ensure My Money Is Safe

Hi, I'm working with a small company based in Mumbai. The company has provided me with my PF account number, but I haven't yet received a PF slip. When I asked for the PF slip, the boss gave me my account number over the phone. I have a doubt in my mind about relying on a number that was dictated to me. I need to check if my PF account exists or if the boss is possibly lying and deducting money from my salary each month.

Hi DK Pani,

Follow either of the following:

1. Request the PF number and account balance in writing via an office memo, email, or official correspondence for records by writing to the Mumbai office.

2. Speak to other office colleagues in Mumbai to verify the establishment code and number, and their PF slips.

3. Speak to the person who is responsible for maintaining PF in Mumbai.

4. As a last resort, write to the PF Office in Mumbai to seek confirmation of your PF number and PF slip(s). They may respond.
