I have attached herewith the recent notification issued by the PF department regarding a unique PF account number for an employee. Although there is no fixed date on when the system is to be implemented, this circular will help in understanding the process.

This will be very useful for employees. Do you have any idea when this will be implemented?

It is not implemented now. It is only a proposal. They have only asked for suggestions from all the employers and employees, which have to be submitted before 4th September. Only after receiving the feedback will they implement it, with or without modifications.

Really, it will be very helpful to the employee and also the PF Organization. Can anybody have an idea what activities will be done by the PF Org. for existing PF account holders? Will the old account be converted into one UNIQUE account number?
