Dear Friends,
Some people say to run opposite to the wind direction and some people say its perpendicular diretion of wind flow during major fire and chemical release.
I want clarifiction and authenticated information on which direction it is. Kindly share your knwledge on this matter.

SSM

Dear SSM
As per my understanding it is against the wind direction only... From where you read or came to know about this perpandicular direction...
Let's wait for more response from our other members...

Dear All,
i think we should prefer to run in perpendicular direction. I have tried to explain the reason in the attached ppt with the help of scenario and position of people.

Dear SSM
In my experience, my senior colleagues are also instructed to choose perpendicular direction only. For Eg: wind direction is towards south and the person is 100 / 200 mtr far from the releasing source at south side. Moving towards opposite direction means he has to move towards releasing source direction up to 100 / 200 meter. Is it ok? I am also waiting for our seniors reply eagerly.

Dear Dipil...have a look on the PPT and tell us your opinion.

Dear all,
Good learning from you all..so far i know was to take opposite direction. Last week we had a training program by an expert, he said this perpendicular direction.
Thanks one and all for your posts.
@Hansa & viji 75 --valuable inputs.
