Is PF Form 9 Really Enough Instead of Forms 5, 10, and 2? Seeking Clarity and Examples

bhardwaj_ch1
I have come to know that Form 9 is enough to send to the PF Office instead of sending PF Forms 5, 10, and 2. I want to understand this as I have learned from the organization's senior HR in a Pune-based organization. If anyone has PF Form 9, please do share. Thank you.

Regarding my own query, there have been 22 views and no answers. I have found information about PF Form 9, which is the "Return of employees who are entitled and required to become members of the Employees' Provident Fund and Pension Fund (Within 15 Days of coverage)." As Form 9 is to be sent within 15 days of coverage under the Act, I still want to know more. We established this 4 years ago with PF coverage, but this time we are sending Form 9.

Well, in my view, PF Form 9 (Revised) needs to be filed as the initial return to the PF department, showing the list of eligible employees.

I agree with Mr. Nitesh as Form-9 (Revised) is just an initial return of employees who are entitled and required to become members of the EPF every year. Whereas Form-5 and Form-10 will be generated and submitted along with the PF monthly challan as ECR from March 2012 onwards. Form-2 will be submitted in hard copy at the regional office. If anyone has not submitted Form-9 after the initial registration under PF, they can submit up to the current year from the remaining PF account numbers.

Thanks and Regards,

Submission of Form 9 for EPF

Form 9 of EPF has to be submitted if the company is covered for the first time and should be done within 15 days. However, the EPF authorities may ask for this form as and when they require. This form contains the list of all the employees covered under the act, right from the first to the last, as of the current date.
