Designing a Leave Policy: What Are the Best Practices for Leave Encashment and Annual Leave Calculations?

To the Seniors, please help me with all the following answers because our company is designing a leave policy for employees:

A. Pvt Ltd Company - Min & Max No of Leave/A Ltd Company - Min & Max No of Leave

B. Which types of leaves are encashable & what are the conditions of leave encashment in general? Please explain with examples.

C. For leave purposes, does Annum generally refer to the Calendar Year (1st Jan-31st Dec) or Financial Year (1st Apr-31st Mar)?

Leave Policy Overview

A)
- i) 7 casual and 7 medical leaves for 1 year.
- ii) One earned leave for every 20 working days.

B) Every earned leave for encashment generally requires 240 working days in a calendar year for a person and should be paid before the 31st of January of the next year.

C) The calendar year must refer to January 1st to December 31st.
