1. Cement Packing & Loading
2. Unloading of Coal
3. Unloading of Red Ochre & Gypsum

Technical Aspects to Consider When Selecting a Suitable Dust Mask

What technical aspects should I consider when selecting a suitable dust mask?

Any assistance on this matter would be highly appreciated.

As per my understanding, all the above materials are solids and capable of generating dust only. Therefore, I recommend you procure approved dust masks (Particulate Matter N95 with a protection factor of not less than 10%) for the handling operations of the above materials.

Use of Supplied Air Respirators

We are all well aware that the protection factor of a supplied air respirator is 100%. It is better to use supplied air respirators if dust generation is very high and the nature of the job is static. Supplied air respirators are suitable for jobs that involve moving from one place to another.

Please go through the attached file that contains information on RPE.

Thank you very much for providing the valuable information. I will try to come to a conclusion with the inputs you have given. However, I have contacted M/s. Venus, the manufacturers of Respiratory Protection products, hoping to get a pure solution from them as well.

Please review the websites of 3M India and Venus for all available information about nose masks. Currently, these two are the best options for masks.
