- By outsourcing to a pre-employment screening service
- Screenings performed by the in-house recruitment team
- Recruitment tests
- During the interview process by questioning candidates on the time lapse between degrees and employment
- Inconsistent information on employee history/salary history
- By verifying credentials
- Reference check - It is always good to ask for numbers that are not listed by the candidate. Usually, the candidate will give a number of those who will speak positively about him/her.
- Insisting on relieving letters or experience certificates will also help in addressing this problem.

It is possible to identify candidates with false claims. In the long run, candidates should be aware that fake resumes only cause damage to their careers.
