Event Management - like Leadership - is a collection of a number of disciplines, where each discipline further comprises a number of competencies.
So, essentially, Event Management is like assembling a motley crew of skills, disciplines, competencies, behaviours, attributes etc...
My suggestion to you is to join Amazon. They have some wonderful books for Kindle and Kindle Singles on Event Management. These range from free to many dollars.
Membership to Kindle (Amazon) is free, and so are the Kindle apps that you'll need to read your downloaded books.
The other advantage with Amazon is that you'll always have access to the latest material as it is released.
