Struggling with PF Annual Return for 2011-2012: Is My Data Enough for Submission?

I am a Manpower HR Executive in an office. The PF annual return for 2011-2012 has not yet been submitted in my office. Now, my boss has asked me to do this work, but I don't know what needs to be filed. I have prepared FORM 3A & 6A. Please tell me if this data is sufficient for submission. Can I go to the PF office with this data for the annual return? Please help me out.

If your company's Form 3A & 6A is ready, carry a hard copy. Also, bring a soft copy on a CD (the format will be available with the PF department) and the challans. Ensure you have a letterhead with an authorized signature.

You are right. You should submit Form 3A and 6 in both hard copies and soft copies. May I know how you prepared those forms? Did you use the E-return tool? It is now mandatory to use the e-return tool for filing annual returns; otherwise, they will not be accepted.

Preparing a Soft Copy on a CD

How can I prepare a soft copy on a CD? I have copied all my data to my pen drive. If I paste all the data from my pen drive onto a blank CD, will it work? I have prepared all the data in an Excel format of FORM 3A & 6A.

Hi, for that, you should install the E-Return tool. Then, you should enter the data. For any assistance, you shall call or email me.

E-Return Tool and Filing Requirements

The E-Return tool is effective from March 2012. For the previous year 2011-12, you will have to file hard copies of Form 3A and Form 6A.

I am sending the soft copy to fill in and submit to the PF Regional Office EDP Department.

For the 2011-12 submission of the annual return, the soft copy format is attached below. This is created in Excel; then, you have to convert it to a .txt file, as nowadays, PF monthly submission happens. The format is attached.

Steps to Submit the Annual Return

For submitting the annual return, download the E-return tool. First, add the company and input the master data of the company and employees. Upload the monthly contribution wages from March 2011 to February 2012. After that, generate the Form 3-A text file and copy it onto a CD for submission of the return.
