➡️ There is no such deposit required while getting registered for ESI, apart from the fees which are non-refundable.

Answer for Question No. 1: Yes, you should take an ESI sub-code.

Answer for Question No. 2: No separate deposit is required for taking a sub-code. However, if you are applying for a main code, you have to deposit the 6 months' ESI amount since you are a temporary staffing provider. The ESI amount has to be calculated based on the minimum wages. Therefore, there is no need to pay the ESI amount for the first 6 months. If the wages exceed the minimum wages, the ESI payment should be adjusted for any excess already paid or deposited.
