Understanding Industrial DA Changes: What Do the New Rates Mean for You?

Dear friends, as you know, the Industrial DA from 01.07.2012 onwards is 61.5% (2007 scales) and 172.6% (1997 scales) respectively. After the release of AICPI of June 2012, the projected figure from 01.10.2012 onwards is 64.6% (2007 scales) and 178% (1997 scales) respectively.

Note: AICPI for the months of July and August 2012 have yet to come, and the final figures may be changed accordingly.

Increase in Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) for PSU Employees

Based on the average, the Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) for PSU employees is set to increase by 5.8% from 1st October 2012, moving from 61.5% to 67.3%.

The Industrial DA has been increased from 61.5% to 67.3% for the 01.01.2007 scales and from 172.6% to 182.5% for the 01.01.1997 scales.
